About Kate
I am a junior lawyer working at Clayton Utz, a large commercial law firm, where my days are often filled with a mix of attending court and client work, often with very tight deadlines. Outside of work, I enjoy exploring Melbourne’s food scene and wine bars, spending time with friends, and finding moments to recharge in the city’s beautiful parks and gardens.
Why I am passionate about workplace mental health?
As a young professional in a demanding industry, I’ve experienced how the pressures of long hours, high expectations, and constant deadlines can lead to burnout if mental health isn’t prioritised. I’ve also seen how these challenges can affect others, particularly those early in their careers who may feel unsure about how to navigate them. I’m passionate about workplace mental health because I believe it’s essential to create environments where people feel supported, not just in their work but in their overall wellbeing. I want to help other young professionals feel empowered to seek help and advocate for change in their workplaces.
What does thriving at work look like to me?
Thriving at work, to me, means feeling a sense of purpose and accomplishment in what I do, while also maintaining a healthy balance between my professional and personal life. Ultimately it means feeling energised, motivated, and supported to do my best work while knowing that my wellbeing is valued.
